Please book at least 24 hours in advance by email, SMS or telephone. The entrance gate is locked and there is no telephone reception either at the gate or elsewhere on the farm. 

The directions are on the main page. Please print out the directions and do not rely on GPS alone. You cannot phone when lost, because there is no reception.

Activities

Day visitors are welcome at Deelfontein. The rate is R120 per person, including use of the routes and the bush camp.

	Swimming in the large 15 m swimming pool, with an ablution block with change rooms for men and women, showers, toilets, as well as a deck with barbeque facilities.
	Mountain biking on more than 30 km of mountain bike trails, including dirt road, jeep track, and single track, in degrees of difficulty varying from easy to extremely technical. More information elsewhere in this website.
	Day hiking is possible on Deelfontein, and a large number of shorter and longer day routes invite the visitor to explore the area on foot. For a complete description of these routes, click here. The hiking and MTB trails are eminently suited for trailrunning.

Meteorite Hiking Trails Comprising more than 60 km of trails, the Meteorite Hiking Trail system offers accommodation in three camps, of which the Deelfontein Bush Camp is one.

Birdwatching The Dome is a birders paradise, and on Deelfontein the trails take you to various habitats, ideal for the birding enthusiast. For a list the bird species sighted in the Dome, click here.

Tree identification There is ample opportunity for those interested in plants, reptiles and other animals. Make sure you bring your field guides! For a complete tree list, click here.

Stargazing excursions The clear night skies far away from the light pollution in the cities often surprise visitors who have not seen the Milky Way for a long time. Deelfontein has its own equipped  observatory. For stargazing excursions, contact the owner at least two months in advance.
